About Us
The Nagara Fort, located near Hosanagara in Shivamogga district, is a 17th-century hill fort that once served as a prominent stronghold of the Keladi Nayaka dynasty. Originally called Bidanur Fort, it was an important military base and administrative center.
The fort is spread over a large hill, with remnants of palaces, water tanks, watchtowers, and granaries still visible. Notable features include:

- Akka Thangi Honda (Twin Ponds) – a pair of water tanks within the fort.
- Devagange Pond – a stepped tank with seven interconnected ponds, used for rituals.
