Where the Poet’s Soul Still Breathes in the Malnad Hills.
About Us
Kuppalli Kavimane, the ancestral home of Rashtrakavi Kuvempu (1904–1994), is preserved as a memorial museum in Thirthahalli taluk, Shivamogga district.
Kuvempu, Karnataka’s most celebrated poet, writer, and Jnanpith Awardee, lived and drew inspiration here. The heritage house, a beautiful traditional Malnad-style tiled mansion, is now maintained by the Rashtrakavi Kuvempu Pratisthana as a museum showcasing his life, literary works, photographs, and personal belongings.
The serene village of Kuppalli, surrounded by forests and hills, reflects the cultural and natural environment that shaped Kuvempu’s writings, including his epic Sri Ramayana Darshanam.
