The Golden Lake of Adventure and Tranquility.
About Us
Honnemaradu, located on the backwaters of the Sharavathi River, about 25 km from Sagara town in Shivamogga district, is a renowned destination for adventure, eco-tourism, and water sports.
The name Honnemaradu means “Golden Lake,” inspired by the golden reflections of sunrise and sunset on the expansive waters. Spread across a huge reservoir created by the Linganamakki Dam, it is surrounded by thick forests and rolling hills of the Western Ghats.
The site is a paradise for adventure seekers, birdwatchers, and nature lovers. Managed largely by eco-groups and adventure clubs, Honnemaradu offers activities like kayaking, canoeing, coracle rides, wind rafting, swimming, and camping in a serene, pollution-free environment.
