Kuvempu, Karnataka’s most celebrated poet, writer, and Jnanpith Awardee, lived and drew inspiration here. The heritage house, a beautiful traditional Malnad-style tiled mansion, is now maintained by the Rashtrakavi Kuvempu Pratisthana as a museum showcasing his life, literary works, photographs, and personal belongings.

The Kedareswara Temple is a 12th-century Hoysala-style temple located at Balligavi, in Shikaripura taluk, Shivamogga district. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple was built in 1060 CE by the Chalukya king Vinayaditya and later developed by the Hoysalas.

The Keladi Rameshwara Temple, located in Keladi village, Sagara taluk, Shivamogga district, is an important historical and religious monument built in the 16th century by the rulers of the Keladi Nayaka dynasty.

This palace is constructed primarily of rosewood and stone, showcasing the traditional Malnad architectural style. It is surrounded by lush gardens and now functions as an archaeological museum under the care of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).

Udutadi, a historic village in Shikaripura taluk, Shivamogga district, is renowned as the birthplace of Akka Mahadevi (12th century) – one of the greatest Veerashaiva poet-saints of the Vachana movement.

Ninasam (Neelakanteshwara Natya Sangha) is a world-renowned cultural institution located in Heggodu village, Sagara taluk, Shivamogga district. Founded in 1949 by K.V. Subbanna, Ninasam is dedicated to promoting theatre, cinema, and cultural education.

The Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Temple is a fine example of Hoysala architecture, located at Bhadravati in Shivamogga district. Built in the 13th century CE during the reign of the Hoysala king Vira Someshwara, this temple is dedicated to Lord Narasimha (an incarnation of Vishnu).
