Gateway Across the Sharavathi Backwaters
About Us
The Sigandur Bridge, located near Sagara town in Shivamogga district, is a scenic hanging bridge / motorable bridge built across the Sharavathi backwaters. It serves as a key link to the famous Sigandur Chowdeshwari Temple, which was earlier accessible mainly by a launch ferry service.
Stretching across the vast, calm waters of the Sharavathi River reservoir (Linganamakki backwaters), the bridge provides stunning panoramic views of the Western Ghats, especially during sunrise and sunset. It has become both a practical transport route and a tourist attraction for those visiting Sigandur.
The bridge is particularly loved by photographers, bikers, and family travelers, offering a unique experience of crossing the backwaters while enjoying cool breezes and serene landscapes.
