About Us

Humcha (Hombuja), located in Shivamogga district (near Hosanagar taluk), is one of the most important Jain pilgrimage centers in Karnataka, renowned for the ancient Sri Padmavati Temple and Sri Parshwanatha Basadi.
The temple complex dates back to the 8th century CE, established by the Santara dynasty, who made Humcha their capital. The presiding deity, Goddess Padmavati, is revered as a guardian deity in Jainism and draws pilgrims from across India.
Humcha is not only a religious site but also a center of Jain culture, architecture, and history, with numerous ancient Jain basadis, inscriptions, and monuments scattered across the village.
