Sigandur Chowdeshwari Temple Tourism Guide

The Sacred Seat of Goddess Chowdeshwari, Guardian of Justice.

About Us

The Sigandur Chowdeshwari Temple, located on the banks of the Sharavathi backwaters in Sagara taluk, Shivamogga district, is one of Karnataka’s most famous pilgrimage centers.
Dedicated to Goddess Chowdeshwari, revered as a powerful protector and dispenser of justice, the temple attracts thousands of devotees daily. Worshippers believe that prayers offered here bring protection from injustice, evil, and difficulties. Many devotees also submit petitions at the temple seeking divine justice.
The temple is set amidst scenic surroundings, with lush greenery and vast backwaters, adding to its spiritual charm. One of the unique features of visiting Sigandur is the ferry ride across the Sharavathi backwaters, which itself is a memorable experience.
