About Us

Ninasam (Neelakanteshwara Natya Sangha) is a world-renowned cultural institution located in Heggodu village, Sagara taluk, Shivamogga district. Founded in 1949 by K.V. Subbanna, Ninasam is dedicated to promoting theatre, cinema, and cultural education.
It serves as a vibrant center for Kannada theatre, film appreciation courses, and literary activities, and has trained generations of actors, directors, and writers. The annual Ninasam Culture Course attracts students, scholars, and art lovers from across India.
The complex houses a modern theatre auditorium, library, and training spaces amidst the serene Malnad greenery. Visiting Ninasam offers tourists a unique opportunity to experience Karnataka’s rich cultural and artistic heritage.
