Jog Falls

The Majestic Roar of the Sharavathi

About Us

Jog Falls, also called Gerusoppa Falls or Jogada Gundi, is India’s second-highest plunge waterfall, located on the Sharavathi River in Sagara taluk, Shivamogga district, Karnataka. The river drops from a height of 830 feet (253 meters), creating four distinct cascades known locally as:

  • Raja
  • Rani
  • Roarer
  • Rocket
The falls are a spectacular sight, especially during the monsoon when the Sharavathi River is in full flow. Jog is not just a natural wonder but also part of the Sharavathi Hydroelectric Project, which plays a major role in Karnataka’s power supply.
